Job description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute across the electrical systems that bring our humanoid robot to life. In this role, you will support the design, build, and test of electronics spanning compute, sensing, power, and motor drive—learning the full stack while taking ownership of well-scoped design and validation tasks. You will work closely with senior electrical engineers and cross-functional partners in mechanical, firmware, and controls to bring up hardware, debug issues, and turn prototypes into production-ready designs. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer early in their career who is eager to learn quickly, dig into hardware, and grow into deeper technical ownership over time.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the design of electronic subsystems—schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection—under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Build, wire, and bring up prototype boards and hardware, and assist with rework and integration across the robot.
  • Execute bench testing and validation, capture and analyze data, and document results to characterize hardware performance.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues using standard lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers), escalating and collaborating as needed.
  • Partner cross-functionally with mechanical, firmware, and controls engineers to integrate electronics into the broader robot platform.
  • Contribute to design documentation, test procedures, and continuous improvement of team practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering (or a MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with relevant internship/project experience).
  • Solid fundamentals in circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
  • Hands-on experience building and testing hardware—soldering, wiring, and use of common lab instrumentation for measurement and debugging.
  • Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics and the ability to reason from first principles.
  • Strong communication, curiosity, and a collaborative approach, with eagerness to learn from senior engineers and grow technically.
  • Familiarity with common electrical CAD tools (e.g., Altium) and firmware/embedded basics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with robotic systems, preferably humanoid and/or manipulation robots.
  • Exposure to one or more electrical specialty areas, such as motor drive/power electronics, embedded compute, high-speed and sensing electronics, battery systems, or power distribution and wire harnesses.
  • Experience performing EVT/DVT and comfortable debugging complex electrical systems
