Job description

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a fire protection engineer to support new and existing facility designs and on an existing facilities in efforts to modify it.

Primary responsibilities include engineering task analysis, walk-downs, design development and generation of design output documents. This includes: Plan Drawings, Elevation Drawings, Piping Isometrics, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Riser Details, Hydraulic Calculations (manual and electronically using "HASS" software), and Sway Brace Calculations in accordance with NFPA codes and standards.

Provide technical support to site construction forces, start-up & testing, suppliers or subcontract personnel.ย 

Prepare Data Sheets, Statements of Work, Procurement Specifications, Design Build Specifications, and Purchase Requisitions.

Ideal candidate will have eight (8) years recent design experience, with suppression systems design preferred.

Candidates will have experience/knowledge in mechanical systems, P&ID development, pump calculations, line sizing, and mechanical equipment sizing calculations.ย 

Candidate must have a working knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards.ย ย ย 

Qualifications

Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited institution in fire protection or mechanical engineering, and at least 10 years of professional experience in the design and construction of infrastructure projects.

Must be a U.S. citizen

Q Clearance is preferred or the ability to gain one.
