Position Summary
Accurate Paper Box is a rapidly growing folding carton manufacturer based in Knoxville, Tennessee. We are scaling aggressively and building the operational and financial systems necessary to support long term growth.
This is not a traditional accounting role. While maintaining accurate books and financial discipline is essential, we are looking for someone who will actively improve how the business operates through analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
This role requires someone who not only analyzes financial and operational data, but also takes ownership of implementing improvements, fixing broken processes, and ensuring those changes are consistently followed across the organization.

Because we are a lean and rapidly growing organization, this role requires someone who is comfortable operating both strategically and tactically. At times you will be building financial reporting and improving operational processes, and at other times you may be processing transactions, reconciling accounts, or assisting with payroll. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes rather than focusing only on job boundaries.
The person in this role will serve as both a Senior Accountant and an Operational Finance Analyst, responsible for maintaining the accounting foundation while helping leadership build financial visibility, improve operational discipline, and support the company’s growth.
Core Responsibilities
Accounting Ownership
  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and internal ERP systems
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations
  • Perform monthly close including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and strong internal financial controls
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of general ledger activity
Financial Analysis & Business Visibility
  • Build financial and operational reporting to support leadership decision-making
  • Develop dashboards and KPI reporting related to margins, job performance, and operational efficiency
  • Perform variance analysis and identify profitability drivers
  • Analyze trends across financial and operational data to support business decisions
Operational Finance & Process Improvement
  • Identify breakdowns in financial workflows, ERP processes, or data integrity and implement improvements
  • Strengthen ERP discipline and ensure accurate system data across departments
  • Work with operations, purchasing, and sales to improve margin visibility and cost control
  • Develop systems and reporting that prevent recurring financial or operational issues
Cross-Functional Contribution
  • Work directly with company leadership to support strategic growth
  • Help design reporting structures and financial visibility as the company scales
  • Maintain strong attention to detail in customer setups, item specifications, and system data that impact production accuracy

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial analysis
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with multiple departments

Preferred Experience
  • Manufacturing or inventory-based business experience
  • Experience with cost analysis, margin analysis, or operational finance

  • Experience improving financial processes or ERP workflows
  • Experience building dashboards or KPI reporting
  • Experience integrating ERP systems and financial reporting tools

Who Will Thrive in This Role
Accurate Paper Box operates with an ownership mindset. Every member of our team is expected to contribute beyond the minimum requirements of their role.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Takes initiative and solves problems without waiting to be asked
  • Holds themselves and others accountable to processes and standards
  • Thrives in a fast-moving and evolving environment
  • Is comfortable identifying problems and implementing solutions
  • Uses data to drive decisions and improve business performance
  • Those who take massive, intentional, deliberate action, all the time!
