What does a senior financial data engineer do?

A Senior Financial Data Engineer designs, builds, and manages data infrastructure specifically for financial systems and organizations. They work with large volumes of financial data, ensuring its quality, security, and accessibility for analysis and reporting. This role often involves collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to create pipelines and tools that support financial modeling, risk assessment, and business intelligence. Senior Financial Data Engineers also play a key role in implementing best practices for data governance and regulatory compliance.

How does a senior financial data engineer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams in a financial organization?

A Senior Financial Data Engineer often works closely with data analysts, financial modelers, software developers, and business stakeholders to design and implement robust data pipelines and solutions. • Build strong relationships across the organization while serving as a trusted financial business partner.
  • Champion a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; SAP and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) experience are a plus.
  • Experience working within a large manufacturing or industrial organization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and SOX-controlled environments is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%.
What Makes This Role Exciting
  • Highly visible position with regular interaction with senior Finance and Commercial leadership.
  • Opportunity to influence strategic business decisions through meaningful financial analysis.
  • Broad exposure across Finance, Operations, Sales, Manufacturing, and Corporate functions.
  • Work with a large, dynamic business where your insights directly impact performance and future growth.
  • Excellent opportunity to expand your FP&A experience and develop into a finance leadership role.

If you're looking for a role where you'll have a seat at the table, partner directly with business leaders, and help shape financial strategy through data-driven insights, we'd love to hear from you.
