Location: Orange County, California
Industry: Automotive Parts Distribution
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join a growing Orange County–based automotive parts distributor. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and financial operations while providing management with accurate, timely financial information to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow reports.
  • Establish and maintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliation in a distribution environment.
  • Manage banking relationships, audits, tax filings, and external accounting partners.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide actionable analysis to ownership and senior management.
  • Lead and develop the accounting/finance team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
  • Experience in automotive, parts distribution, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or a related industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and cost accounting.
  • Advanced Excel and accounting/ERP system skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on while also providing strategic financial leadership.
