Assistant Controller

Location: Wichita, Kansas | On-Site

Salary: $80,000–$110,000


We are exclusively partnering with a high-growth, locally owned energy group to hire an Assistant Controller who will serve as the Controller’s right hand.


This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across multiple entities and play an important part in supporting new investments and continued growth. For the right person, there is meaningful opportunity to expand the role as the business scales.


What You’ll Do

  • Support joint interest billing and revenue accounting
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end close
  • Enter invoices and maintain accurate accounting records
  • Complete account and bank reconciliations
  • Analyze financial statements and investigate variances
  • Assist with owner relations and related accounting questions
  • Conduct research and support special accounting projects
  • Work across multiple operating and investment entities
  • Partner closely with the Controller on daily accounting operations and process improvements


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • At least three years of E&P accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of JIB, revenue accounting, and financial reporting
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to assist wherever needed
  • Comfortable working fully in office
