The Opportunity
We are lookingfor an accomplished Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance teamas part of our financial services businessin Montreal.

  • Oversight of the company's general ledger and related account reconciliations; including but not limited to revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities. This includes the preparation and review of journal entries.
  • Oversight of revenue reporting and analysis, as well as monitoring of all client balances for the respective business units
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly management and statutory reports for a number of group entities, including analysis and commentary.
  • Preparation of annual financial statements under international and local company law for multiple legal entities, including stand alone and consolidated structures, including supporting schedules and reports.
  • Preparation of annual financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards and local company law for multiple legal entities, including stand alone and consolidated structures, including supporting schedules and reports.
  • Liaising with external auditors and specialists and successful completion of year end audit under tight deadlines.
  • Preparation of the annual local budget and assisting in the forecasting process
  • Working closely with finance project lead(s) to assist in implementing new systems and financial processes, including the application of accounting policies and procedures
  • Assisting with ad-hoc queries and reporting from internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervising junior members of local finance team and providing supports to the finance teams globally
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
  • The successful candidate will have a university degree in accounting or finance;
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent preferred);
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in accounting in industry or audit firms with a leading accountancy practice;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English);
  • Ability to display analytical and pragmatic thinking;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 16;
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • The successful candidate will have excellent time management, proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines, organizational and prioritization skills;
  • The position requires the ability to deal with all levels of staff including those in foreign offices

Votre contribution
En plus d'une autonomie et de normes en matiere d'ethique incontestablement elevees, le candidat ideal possedera les caracteristiques suivantes:
  • un diplome universitaire en comptabilite ou en finance;
  • un titre professionnel en comptabilite (ACCA/ACA/CPA ou equivalent, de preference);
  • un minimum de trois ans d'experience pertinente en comptabilite dans le secteur ou dans des cabinets de verificateurs ayant un grand cabinet comptable;
  • excellentes competences en communication, tant a l'oral qu'a l'ecrit (parle et ecrit l'anglais couramment);
  • capacite a faire preuve d'un esprit analytique et pragmatique;
