  • Develop comprehensive annual budgets and periodic reforecasts in partnership with property management teams, analyzing revenue opportunities, operating expenses, capital requirements, and cash flow projections
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to property managers and clients through detailed variance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities that impact property performance and net operating income
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tenant billing processes, ensuring proper revenue recognition, expense allocation, and compliance with lease terms and client-specific requirements
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and lenders, coordinating audit requests, tax return preparation, and loan compliance reporting while maintaining strong internal controls
  • Implement financial process improvements and best practices that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client service delivery, leveraging technology platforms and automation tools
  • Mentor and develop junior finance team members, providing technical guidance, quality review, and professional development opportunities that build capability across the team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with asset management, leasing, operations, and corporate accounting teams to ensure alignment on financial goals, reporting standards, and portfolio strategy
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, operating metrics, and market trends, preparing executive-level presentations and investment recommendations that inform strategic decision-making

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with at least 3 years in commercial real estate or property management
  • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting, GAAP accounting principles, and month-end close processes
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis functions
  • Experience with real estate accounting software platforms (Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple properties or client accounts simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, MBA, or related advanced degree
