Position Summary:

Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and supervising construction projects by planning, organizing and controlling day-to-day tasks; complete quality inspections; supervises sub-contractors and field engineers.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
  • Provides critical information about the current status of a project and accurately estimates how it will finish from a cost and revenue perspective from where it started
  • Works closely with Walkers/Superintendents regarding project planning, field leadership, work plan development, submissions, and approvals
  • Conducts recurring team meetings to stay aligned with the expectations and goals of a project
  • Manages complex material supplies and drafts scopes of work for subcontractors
  • Develop work plans and hazard analysis plans for crews to follow to execute the work safely
  • Understands and promotes innovation for cost and schedule improvements
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals
  • Performs complex construction designs - SOE, Hydraulics, PLC, Marine, etc.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.  Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.
  • Ability to relocate as needed

Required Experience

Education/Experience      

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil engineering, or engineering-related field 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy civil construction
  • Experience with Bridge Construction strongly preferred
  • Marine construction experience is preferred
