We have supported over 200 renewable installations through our gride code compliance services for energy equipment and power systems, resulting in a growth in installed capacity of over 9GW. With our services of testing, simulation and certification, we support our customers' needs for market readiness, global market acceptance, risk mitigation, safety and performance assurance.

Our Madrid team within the Energy and Industrial Automation (E&IA) division is expanding, and we are currently seeking a:

Power Electronics Test Engineer

Profile Requirements:

  • A completed engineering degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Electrotechnics, Mechatronics or equivalent, along with experience in Renewable Energies, PV plants, wind farms or power converters.
  • 3-5 years or more experience in the electrical industry, preferably in testing (laboratory testing/FAT Testing/ SAT Testing) and certification (grid code compliance), or, alternatively in development and/or project management.
  • Experience with electrical measurement equipment (network analyzer, wattmeter, oscilloscope), following safety requirements is a plus, but not required.
  • A structured, autonomous work approach, robust analytical skills, and adaptability.
  • Effective communication skills and a customer-focused attitude, coupled with a keen interest in technology.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • A class B driver's license and readiness to travel (20-25%).

The role entails:

Following extensive training, you will undertake the following responsibilities within project-oriented teams in collaboration with a senior team member:

  • Planning and executing product tests on power electronics converters in collaboration with our international customers, according to national and international standards.
  • Verifying the compliance of power converters (grid simulations, PV panels, batteries) against current international standards like VDE4120, NTS SEPE, CEI 0-16 or similar. 
  • Review of test and/or simulation reports.
  • Occasionally overseeing or conducting tests in both internal and external laboratories.
  • Compiling final test reports, predominantly in English.
