Chicken Little Test Engineer - Senior Level

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Part-Time

CLEARANCE: Active Secret

TRAVEL: 25%

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Chicken Little Test Engineer located at the 46TS/TGBB in Eglin AFB, FL. This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron - Sensors and Defensive Systems Flight at Eglin AFB.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master’s Degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 10 years of technical experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for educatiion.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Requires extensive experience in electronic warfare (EW) operations.
  • Requires knowledge of and experience with radio frequency, electro-optical, and electronic combat techniques.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • 20 years of experience in electronic warfare opeartions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs engineering-related duties to execute test and evaluation of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems and precision guided munitions (PGM) seekers against a variety of foreign mobile targets for Project CHICKEN LITTLE.
  • Uses sound engineering, physics, and mathematics principles in the performance of ISR and PGM test and evaluation. Assists in the development of Project Chicken Little program documentation, such as requirements calls, program management directives, and Program Element Monitor (PEM) responses to inquiries.
  • Provides individual technical effort in questions/issues of critical importance to the customer. Assists in the development of system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, test phase entry/exit criteria, and metrics.
  • Supports development test (DT), operational test (OT), force development evaluation (FDE), and certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable system configuration.
  • Supports the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), test strategies, Integrated Test Team (ITT) Charters, Test Scenario Plans, and Modeling and Simulation Development Plans. Prepare, execute, review, and analyze test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the test item development life cycle.   • Develops and write methods of tests, test cases, test cards/procedures, test directives, technical or letter reports, test objectives, analysis and review of requirements, and any other test process documents as required in the conduct of test and evaluation.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors test projects that frequently require significant modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to obtain valid results. Plans, monitors and evaluates tests, and assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests.
  • Makes recommendations and commitments on the conventional aspects of the test and evaluation assignments.
