Job description

Sr. Electronics Design Engineer
As a Senior Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our nuclear qualified electronic components/designs, and for identifying and implementing new technologies and design approaches that will help us stay ahead of the competition.

Salary Information: $95,000 - $125,000 annually

Your Challenge:
  • Design and development of analog circuitry including schematic creation, component selection, and PCB layout for signal processing electronics
  • Work in a fast-paced environment in close cooperation with Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality departments
  • Create and maintain product test reports, analyses, drawings, installation procedures, inspection procedures, test procedures, test reports, Purchase Part Specifications (PPSs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Bills of Manufacturing (BOMs)
  • Independently review and approve test data and other engineers' documentation
  • Identify issues, problems or risks and recommend effective solutions
  • Perform product compliance testing to nuclear standards
  • Component Obsolescence monitoring for new and legacy product designs
  • Support project management in obtaining customer approvals and supporting customer source inspections
  • Cultivate internal and external customer relationships and effectively manage stakeholder expectations in adverse situations
  • Provide technical training to internal and external customers
  • Actively participate in inter-department process improvement projects
  • The role may involve travel to customers or other sites within the US

What You Bring:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years applicable experience in an industry role
  • Proficient in SPICE modelling, schematic capture and PCBA toolsets, e.g. Altium
  • Strong understanding of analog electronics and board design
  • Working understanding of electronic assembly debugging and testing
  • Working knowledge of design for EMC / EMI compliance and applicable standards
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment

Desired
  • Knowledge and experience complying with nuclear, aerospace and commercial quality systems (NQA-1, RCCE/RCCM, AS9100, IS900X, etc.)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the US
  • Understanding of signal processing electronics used with Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs), thermocouples, pressure transmitters, proximity sensors, or other analog sensor designs
  • LabView programming
  • Experience using Syteline or similar ERP system
  • Experience writing work instructions and documentation
  • Calibrating sensors, bench testing, component level troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor and Creo)
