We are seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer for our First Quality Tissue SE, LLC facility located in Anderson, SC. The Electrical Reliability Engineer specifies, designs, implements, and maintains power distribution systems for production equipment and associated machinery while training and assisting Controls Technicians in solving complex problems.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Observes OSHA and company safety rules and always uses the proper safety equipment. Identifies potentially dangerous electrical hazards and takes immediate corrective action. Demonstrates advanced National Electrical Code understanding by teaching others. Develop Safety Procedures for installed machines - Lock-Out /Tag-Out for operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Leads/supports internal Engineering, Maintenance, Production, OEMs, vendors, and contractors to design, install, interface, start up new equipment and process controls. This includes electrical component selection and approval, electrical design approval, software assessments & modifications, machine acceptance testing and problem identification and resolution.
  • Assist Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to meet daily priorities, coverage, and special projects.
  • Responsible for specifying, Power Distribution, Protective Relays, Drives, Motors, DCS, PLC, HMI, Servo Systems, Instrumentation and Data collection and Analysis software, based on our companies' specifications. Evaluates electrical equipment from multiple sources and recommends best value for use.
  • Performs high level troubleshooting, in-depth critical thinking, and utilizes all internal & external resources to solve any electrical, mechanical or process problems. Leads & assists others in troubleshooting machinery, equipment, components, and programs including Power Distribution, Protective Relays, Drives, Motors, DCS, PLC, HMI, Servo systems and Robotics.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to increase production operation performance. Initiates, leads, and oversees improvement projects through completion.
  • Assesses, designs, and makes complex program modifications in DCS, PLC, HMI, and servo controller logic to improve individual equipment and overall system's performance.
  • Provides technical and operation training to Controls team, Production, Warehouse, and other personnel as needed. Shares knowledge and techniques with team members and coordinates the training of personnel to enhance troubleshooting skills.
  • Provides direction and assistance as necessary for off shift/afterhours support.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical engineering experience including advanced knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation, including Power Distribution, Protective Relays, Grounding, Medium Voltage Drives, Coordinated Drives, AC Motors, Bonding, DCS, PLC, HMI, Robotics, and Servo Systems.
  • Prefer Knowledge of Eaton Switchgear and SEL Relays.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic systems
  • Experience with system management such as backup/archiving and restoring.
  • Experience of industrial control networks (OT networks) set up, security and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to lead complex electrical & control engineering projects $50k-$500k+.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing, computer skills, reasoning, and mathematical skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
  • A safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Excellent computer skills, including CMMS, MS Office, AutoCAD, and scheduling software.
