Job description

Last Energy is building modular nuclear power plants designed for rapid manufacturing and deployment. We move fast, build fast, and iterate fast. As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll own high-impact design decisions, work directly with leadership, and help turn our power plant into a scalable product.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Electrical Engineer ready to own major design decisions and help turn our power plant into a product that can be built and deployed like hardware, not infrastructure. You’ll work directly with company leadership on the most critical design and integration challenges, moving fast from concept to execution. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a scrappy, startup environment, where your designs leave the CAD screen and become reality.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the routing, component selection, and integration of modular connectors for high-current, low-voltage distribution systems
  • Ensure all electrical engineering project deliverables meet technical, quality, and performance goals while supporting rapid iteration cycles
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, civil, and structural engineers to integrate electrical systems across the full power plant architecture
  • Provide hands‑on construction and commissioning support, including RFIs, submittal reviews, QA/QC, and field troubleshooting
  • Oversee and mentor electrical engineers performing load flow, voltage drop, and protective coordination analyses
  • Lead equipment and materials selection, ensuring compatibility with modular and repeatable plant designs
  • Interface directly with external partners (including utilities, developers, and EPCs) to align engineering execution with deployment needs
  • Continuously simplify and modularize designs to accelerate manufacturing, testing, and installation
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited program
  • Experience in Power Plant, Data Center, or Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure is preferred
  • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, and the preparation and assembly of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to both project team members and clients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving start-up environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
Why Join Last Energy
  • High ownership, high impact
  • Work directly with leadership on core product decisions
  • Build the electrical backbone of real operating nuclear plants
  • Fast-moving environment with room to lead, innovate, and execute
