In this highly visible leadership role, you will oversee a global trademark and copyright portfolio across Johnson & Johnson's diverse MedTech businesses, partnering closely with senior business leaders, marketing teams, and legal colleagues to protect and strengthen our iconic brands worldwide. Beyond serving as a trusted advisor, you will lead and inspire a high-performing team of attorneys and trademark professionals, driving talent development, operational excellence, and a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all aspects of trademark clearance, prosecution, maintenance and enforcement, as well as copyright and internet/domain name matters.
• Leads and manages a team of trademark and copyright professionals, including optimizing workflows, advancing talent development, and enhancing culture and engagement.
• Works closely with marketing clients and with other functional areas that support the business, providing proactive and strategic counseling that balances reasoned legal analysis with business needs.
• Directs contentious proceedings before courts, trademark offices and other government agencies worldwide, including management of outside counsel.
• Provides legal support for various commercial initiatives and transactions, including due diligence and the negotiation and drafting of a broad range of agreements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Law degree from an ABA accredited law school with excellent academic credentials, and admission to and in good standing with at least one state bar required.
• A minimum of 10 years of trademark and copyright experience with a significant clearance and prosecution background as well as first-hand client counseling and education.
• In-house and medical device, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare products experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of domestic and international laws, regulations, and processes relating to trademark, copyright and internet and domain name matters.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a team, as well as to work independently and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior people leader experience is preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$178,000.00 - $307,050.00
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave - 32 hours per calendar year
