Job Description
As Hagerty grows, we continue to look for talented professionals from a variety of backgrounds to provide holistic solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking a Senior Disaster Program Manager. This is a full-time position that will be on-site in Tallahassee, FL. This Senior Disaster Program Manager will provide critical advisory and complex problem-solving services to our recovery clients.
The Senior Disaster Program Manager will lead teams leverage their extensive experience in disaster recovery programs and advise clients who are navigating complex government funding projects. We're seeking a polished professional with expertise in the FEMA PA Program to take the initiative and act as a high-level project lead and/or manager.
In this position, the Senior Disaster Program Manager will:
  • Heavily integrate with government clients to support their comprehensive recovery efforts across several multi-billion dollar, long-term, and short-term disaster recovery projects simultaneously.
  • Provide clients with FEMA PA policy subject matter expertise to guide them through administrative and policy challenges and help drive overall FEMA PA project strategy and client decision-making.
  • Serve as a daily contact for client stakeholders.
  • Create written deliverables and policy guidance, including complex FEMA PA eligibility guidance.
  • Lead individual program teams or overall recovery client engagements from both an operational and administrative perspective.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to increase overall team and project productivity and efficiency.

Candidates for the Senior Disaster Program Managermust possess the following qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the FEMA PA Program.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of total professional work experience.
  • A strong policy background in the FEMA PA Program, including a comprehensive understanding of Title 2 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 200, and post-obligation grant management activities and compliance requirements.
  • Experience effectively working with and managing a team.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to present verbally to high-level stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written communication skills, including the ability to create nuanced/policy-complex recommendation documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office products.

Qualifications
Candidates for the Senior Disaster Program Manager may also have the following qualifications:
  • Proven success as a disaster recovery consultant at the federal, state, county, or local levels of government.
  • Experience managing projects of various sizes, to include developing a project plan, managing a team, creating and managing project budgets.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain client/professional relationships/partnerships.
  • A Master's degree pertinent to emergency management, accounting, finance, engineering, public administration, business administration, or similar field would be a plus, but is not required.
  • Knowledge of other disaster recovery program funding would be a plus, such as the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.
