The Team

The Senior Director, FX Delivery will lead the strategy, delivery, modernization, and operational excellence of the Bank's Foreign Exchange technology ecosystem.  This role is accountable for the successful execution of business, regulatory, risk, and infrastructure initiatives across Murex and internally developed FX trading, pricing, risk management, workflow, settlement, and reporting platforms.

The Role

The role will lead a global organization of engineering leaders, program managers, engineers, and technology specialists responsible for supporting Front Office, Market Risk, Operations, Finance, and Control Functions.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring deep FX industry expertise, exceptional program delivery capabilities, and strong people leadership to drive technology transformation while ensuring platform stability, regulatory compliance, and business growth.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Define and execute a multi-year FX technology roadmap, leading large-scale transformation across Murex and proprietary applications while establishing strong governance, delivery standards, and execution frameworks.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure technology investments are aligned to strategic objectives and deliver measurable business value
  • Drive Murex platform modernization and optimization while providing executive oversight of architecture, delivery, upgrades, integration, risk, pricing, and settlement capabilities
  • Accountable for ensuring the Murex platform remains resilient, scalable, secure, and compliant with business and regulatory requirements
  • Accountable for leading delivery teams supporting FX trading and risk applications, driving modernization      of legacy applications and integration architectures
  • Establish engineering excellence through Agile, DevSecOps, automation, testing, observability, and strong  mentorship.
  • Lead a portfolio of strategic business, risk, regulatory, and infrastructure programs, managing financials, dependencies, resources, and executive reporting.
  • Establish KPI-driven execution, transparent governance, and disciplined delivery practices to support successful transformation outcomes
  • Serve as the senior technology subject matter expert for FX and Capital Markets platforms, maintaining deep understanding of FX products, liquidity management, market structure, and pre- and post-trade processing.
  • Maintain a pulse on industry insights and application to technology strategy, solution design, and executive decision-making.
  • Maintain strong operational, cybersecurity, audit, and compliance controls across the FX technology portfolio.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop global engineering and delivery teams while building a high-performing and inclusive culture.
  • Represent FX Technology in executive committees and governance forums, fostering strong collaboration across business, technology, risk, and control partners.
 
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 15+ years of Capital Markets technology experience
  • 10+ years leading global technology organizations
  • University degree or equivalent work experience (BA or MBA in business, finance or economics).
  • Deep expertise with Murex or corresponding platforms and delivery
  • Extensive knowledge of FX products and trading workflows, including Spot, Forwards, Swaps, NDFs, FX Options, liquidity management, market structure, pre and post-trade processing.
  • Proven record leading large-scale transformation and regulatory programs.
  • Strong program management, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience with modern software engineering, cloud, architecture, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in an agile, delivery-focused model, managing multiple priorities and adapting quickly to changing needs
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to connect strategy to execution and tangible results
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior and executive leadership
  • Proven leadership experience building and managing high-performing teams
  • Experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or transformation initiatives is considered an asset
  • Excellent knowledge with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
