Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer in Birmingham, AL.
Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud DevSecOps Engineer to help modernize and secure its enterprise software delivery platform. This role will focus on embedding security throughout the CI/CD lifecycle while building and maintaining automated deployment pipelines in a highly collaborative Agile environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on DevSecOps engineer with strong CI/CD expertise, experience integrating security into deployment pipelines, and a passion for automation. This position plays a key role in the client's migration from UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) to Harness and will work closely with development and security teams to improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and security. This environment is primarily on-premises, although AWS experience is considered a plus.
Duties Include:
* Design, build, maintain, and optimize enterprise CI/CD pipelines
* Embed security controls and automated security scanning throughout the software development lifecycle
* Build and support CI/CD solutions using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Harness
* Assist with the migration from UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) to Harness
* Integrate existing automation scripts into deployment pipelines
* Manage containerized application deployments within OpenShift
* Improve deployment reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency
* Partner closely with software engineers and security teams to implement DevSecOps best practices
* Work independently while taking ownership of CI/CD platform responsibilities
* Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of hands-on DevOps or DevSecOps engineering experience
* Strong experience designing, building, and supporting CI/CD pipelines
* Experience embedding security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)
Hands-on experience with:
* GitHub
* GitHub Actions
* Harness
* OpenShift
* PowerShell scripting
* Experience supporting Windows and Linux/Unix environments
* Experience integrating security scanning tools into deployment pipelines
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
* Python and/or Bash scripting
* Experience migrating from UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) to Harness
* AWS experience
* Experience with Blue/Green deployment strategies
* Experience working with enterprise containerized workloads
The ideal candidate is a senior DevSecOps engineer who enjoys building secure, automated deployment solutions and thrives in a collaborative Agile environment. You are comfortable working independently, taking ownership of your work, and have experience integrating security into enterprise CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Harness, OpenShift, and modern deployment automation will position you for success in this role.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
