Senior Aerospace Design Engineer

Greensboro, NC โ€“ Onsite
$75.32 โ€“ $94.16/hr (W-2)
Schedule: 1st Shift | 40 hrs/week


About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Aerospace Design Engineer to lead design, analysis, and validation activities for advanced aerospace products. This role will act as the primary technical expert, working directly with customer engineering teams and supporting cross-functional departments throughout the product lifecycle.


What Youโ€™ll Do

Design & Engineering:

  • Lead design review meetings with customers and internal teams.

  • Interpret specifications and translate requirements into design solutions.

  • Perform performance analysis and dimensional variation studies.

Testing & Validation:

  • Set up and operate hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic test stands.

  • Conduct validation tests and ensure compliance with performance requirements.

Prototype & Manufacturing Support:

  • Support prototype fabrication and operate basic manufacturing equipment.

  • Order and schedule required materials/equipment.

  • Monitor project timelines, cost, and quality.

Cross-Functional Support:

  • Work with Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

  • Provide engineering insight on manufacturability, safety, performance, and cost.

Design for Manufacturability (DFM):

  • Ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities and tolerances.

  • Make updates and improvements to existing designs.

  • Ensure design documentation is clear and production-ready.


What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required (Engineering discipline preferred).

  • 5+ years of Aerospace Design experience (must-have).

  • Proven expertise in design, analysis, and validation of aerospace components.

  • Experience leading technical reviews with customers.

  • Hands-on experience with test stands and testing equipment.

  • Strong understanding of DFM, engineering drawings, and specifications.
