Key Position Functions:

  • Work closely with the Project Engineering Team providing technical and design support to determine the best solutions to specific customer needs.
  • Support new product line design and development.
  • Execute on all customer orders.
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, industry standards, customer requirements and related specifications.
  • Provide necessary calculations required on new and existing products.
  • Provide engineering production support to machining, welding, assembly and other departments.
  • Provide technical support for field service, the customer, sales and manufacturing.
  • Together with the quality department, troubleshoot quality issues as it pertains to material rejects, material review, warrantee issues and custom engineering requirements.
  • Develop, write and implement production procedures as it pertains to the support of engineering functions.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff on technical issues, corporate policies, project management, and divisional objectives.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving engineering work.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety principles applicable to the project.

Preferred Candidates Will Possess a Combination of the Following:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or technical institute
  • Membership with APEGA or ASET or eligible to get membership
  • Six on more years in product design experience.  Wellhead or Gate Valve experience preferred.
  • Proficient with 3D modeling and drafting with Creo or SolidWorks
  • Experienced in the use of ANSI, ASME and ISO drafting techniques and geometric tolerances
  • Thorough knowledge of all API/ISO product requirements
  • Solid experience with stress analysis
  • Strong knowledge of the development and control of design documentation
  • Proficient in writing technical reports and related documents
  • Thorough knowledge of the wellhead industry and related competitors
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables and situations where only limited standards exist
  • Field installation experience would be an asset
