Position Summary

The Design Engineer supports the development, validation, and continuous improvement of flexible printed heater products for automotive and industrial applications. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and program management.
The role includes significant collaboration with global teams in China and Mexico, contributing to international product development and launch activities.

The Design Engineer supports the development, validation, and continuous improvement of flexible printed heater products for automotive and industrial applications. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and program management teams to support product design activities from concept through production launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, modify, and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings in accordance with company and customer standards.
  • Support prototype builds, sample preparation, testing, and product validation activities.
  • Assist in design verification and validation activities including thermal, mechanical, and electrical testing.
  • Participate in design reviews, engineering change activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze test data and document findings to support design decisions and product improvements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management teams to support project timing and deliverables.
  • Support development and release of engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, specifications, DFMEA inputs, test reports, and ECNs.
  • Ensure engineering documentation complies with applicable internal standards, customer requirements, and quality system procedures.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions related to product or process issues.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, and other automotive product development activities as required.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project records within company systems and databases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Basic proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent 3D modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
  • Experience with prototype fabrication, machining, assembly, or hands-on product testing.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Wrike, Microsoft Project, or similar systems.
  • Basic understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, PCB fundamentals, or embedded electronic assemblies.

Compensation Information:

$110,000-$140,000
