Position Description:

Barrick is seeking an engaged, Senior Resource Geologist to join our Fourmile Project team.  The successful candidate will support the identification and advancement of high-quality exploration opportunities across its portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the discovery of world-class ore bodies by supporting both desktop and field-based evaluations, including data compilation, geological modeling, and target generation.

The Senior Geologist will play a key role in shaping and advancing exploration opportunities at various stages of the pipeline. You will collaborate with talented, multidisciplinary exploration teams and technical leaders, contributing to exploration strategies while gaining exposure to a diverse range of geological settings and project types.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to staff, contract personnel and core techs as needed
  • Guide staff performance and skills development
  • Design, budget, coordinate and execute drill programs; engage associated personnel
  • Liaise with Resource and Database teams; identify opportunity
  • Liaise with Operations groups to ensure projects sync with LOM plans
  • Liaise with Safety and Environmental personnel to ensure compliance
  • Provide input and support to Life-of-mine and project study work
  • Prepare reports, presentations and technical reviews as required
  • Foster strong safety culture
  • Manage projects as delegated by supervisor; perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or equivalent experience required
  • Ten (10) years' mining geology experience preferred
  • Six years' experience in team environment preferred
  • Experience in Carlin-type deposits preferred
  • Strong computer skills in geological modeling software required
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this position required
