Title: Senior DATABASE ARCHITECT

Location : Chanhassen, MN

Duration : 3 plus months

POSITION SUMMARY:

Support the Database Team by designing and developing stored procedures, creating database SQL schemas and general performance tuning.


GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Database Development

1. Produces database schemas and changes based on developer provided data requirements, including creating tables, indexes, views, triggers and storage procedures

2. Initiates database change request process on all database related changes and verify Database Team is following SOX compliance guidelines 

3. Oversee database change request process on all database related changes, review SQL code for Data Architects, and provide formal approval

4. Support creation of ad hoc queries for the business and technical teams as needed

5. Determine application database access security and follow formal approval process

6. Monitors the growth of production databases to determine future capacity needs and upgrades

7. Produces technical and functional data dictionaries and diagrams of systems

8. Produces scripts to convert data for system migrations and upgrades

9. Assists software development groups with database related issues

10. Oversee performance tuning and optimization of all databases servers 


Other Duties

1. Follow SQL coding standards

2. Verify compliance standards are followed on database servers

3. Review and approve SQL scripts for other Data Architects 

4. Provide database technical consulting to Data Warehouse Architects, IT, and the business 

5. On-call support on a rotating schedule

6. Provide technical leadership and supervision to Database Team 


Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS

Database Design (minimum two years experience)

MS Transact SQL (minimum three years experience)

General Programming Skills

MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)


NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

UNIX

Javascript

Experience with Informatica or similar ETL tool

Experience with Cognos BI Framework Manager and Transformer
