What You'll Do

 As a Data Visualization (Power BI) Senior Consultant at Clarkston you will:

  • Work with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
  • Turn data into stories by visualizing complex data in an intuitive and user-friendly way
  • Gather requirements, prototype design, iterate based on client feedback, and develop final visual solutions
  • Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges including regulations, recommending processes, and product or service enhancements
  • Mentor junior Data Visualization consultants on Clarkston's analytics team
  • Assist in defining and managing client solutions

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Power BI data visualization role
  • Ability to use complex expressions to calculate, group, filter, and format custom dashboards/reports
  • Knowledge of best practices for visual flow, interactivity, and drilldown between graphics
  • Background in design principles for UI
  • Expertise in designing and delivering enterprise Power BI analytics solutions - including dashboards, reports, and semantic models - aligned to business objectives and user needs
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience working with relational data sources using SQL or equivalent query languages
  • Ability to identify the needs of various audiences for consuming the visualizations and tailor design and UI approach to those groups (executive, analyst, information consumer)
  • Strong grasp of the steps to productionizing a solution, including testing, administration, and security
  • Demonstrated capability in the underlying data models driving visualization, including relational databases and joins
  • Provide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and practices
  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline

Travel Requirement
Travel is an integral part of this role and is estimated to average 30-50%. This may vary based upon client and project needs. When not traveling, consultants work from their home office. Relocation is not required.
