Job description

Soni's client is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead the design, modernization, and optimization of enterprise Security Operations Center (SOC) technologies. This role is responsible for security architecture, AI-driven threat detection, automation, and cloud security initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity operations and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and evolve enterprise SOC architecture across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Develop security strategies focused on automation, AI, threat intelligence, and operational maturity.
  • Design and implement AI-enabled detection, response, and security analytics solutions.
  • Build automation and orchestration workflows using APIs and security integration platforms.
  • Develop scalable detection engineering capabilities and improve threat monitoring and incident response.
  • Conduct security architecture reviews, risk assessments, and vulnerability management initiatives.
  • Partner with cloud, infrastructure, DevSecOps, and engineering teams to integrate security into enterprise platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Evaluate emerging security technologies and provide architectural guidance and best practices.
  • Mentor security engineers and contribute to technical standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in security architecture or engineering.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise SOC and security architectures.
  • Strong background in cloud security (Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with AI, machine learning, security analytics, or advanced detection capabilities.
  • Experience implementing security automation, orchestration, and API integrations.
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking, identity management, endpoint security, SIEM, and security data architecture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience modernizing SOC environments and implementing AI-driven security operations.
  • Experience with SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence, and security data lakes.
  • Background supporting regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, insurance, or government.
