Senior Data Integration Engineer information

What is a senior data integration engineer?

Senior Data Integration Engineers are experienced professionals who design, develop, and manage systems that combine data from different sources into unified, accessible formats for organizations. They are responsible for ensuring data flows smoothly between databases, applications, and external partners, often using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and APIs. Their role also includes troubleshooting integration issues, optimizing data pipelines for performance, and maintaining data quality and security standards. Typically, they collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions that support decision-making.

What are some common challenges faced by senior data integration engineers when working with legacy systems?

Senior Data Integration Engineers often encounter challenges when integrating data from legacy systems, such as outdated technology stacks, lack of proper documentation, and inconsistent data formats. Overcoming these obstacles usually involves reverse engineering data flows, collaborating closely with system owners, and leveraging specialized middleware or ETL tools. Clear communication and adaptability are essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot and customize integration solutions to fit unique organizational requirements.

Job description

A rapidly scaling robotics and automation company is hiring a Senior Data Integration Engineer to help connect, standardize, and operationalize data across a diverse ecosystem of robotic systems, software platforms, warehouse technologies, and customer environments. The organization develops advanced automation solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and visibility across modern logistics and fulfillment operations.
As a Senior Data Integration Engineer, you will serve as the technical bridge between robotic systems and the broader technology ecosystem that supports customers, operations teams, and internal engineering organizations. While traditional data engineers often focus on analytics pipelines, machine learning data sets, or platform infrastructure, this role is centered on data interoperability and system connectivity.
You will build solutions that integrate robotic workflows with warehouse management systems, enterprise resource planning platforms, customer applications, operational dashboards, and cloud services. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex integration challenges, designing scalable interfaces between systems, and enabling seamless information exchange across highly automated environments.
This position offers exposure to a wide variety of technologies, including robotics platforms, APIs, event-driven architectures, cloud services, operational systems, and customer-facing integrations. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring that data flows efficiently between systems and that customers can fully leverage the intelligence generated by robotic operations.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience designing and supporting data integrations
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and system interoperability
  • Experience with ETL and data synchronization processes
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems
  • Experience working with cloud technologies and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of database design and data transformation techniques
  • Experience troubleshooting complex integration issues
  • Familiarity with JSON, XML, and common data exchange formats
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desired Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of Data Engineering, Integration Engineering, or Data Solutions experience
  • Experience supporting logistics, robotics, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or operational technologies
  • Experience integrating SaaS, enterprise applications, and cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies
  • Experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience operating in fast-growth technology organizations

What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
  • 100% Hands On
  • Design and build integrations between robotic platforms and customer systems
  • Develop scalable data exchange processes supporting operational workflows
  • Create APIs and integration services that enable real-time information sharing
  • Partner with software, robotics, and customer implementation teams to support deployments
  • Troubleshoot system connectivity and data synchronization issues
  • Standardize data structures and integration patterns across multiple platforms
  • Develop monitoring solutions for integration health and performance
  • Support customer onboarding and technical integration initiatives
  • Improve reliability and scalability of enterprise data exchanges
  • Document integration architectures, standards, and best practices

The Offer
  • Bonus OR Commission eligible

You will receive the following benefits
  • Medical Insurance
  • Dental Benefits
  • Vision Benefits
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) (including match, if applicable)
