Please review the following job description:The Infrastructure Engineering Senior Manager position serves as the enterprise Virtualization Product Owner with end-to-end accountability for VMware and Nutanix infrastructure platforms across the organization. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for highly available, scalable, and secure virtual infrastructure services supporting critical enterprise and financial workloads.
The position leads a high-performing team of onshore and offshore infrastructure engineers responsible for platform engineering, operational support, automation, lifecycle management, and large-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives. The Senior Manager drives delivery excellence through agile methodologies, disciplined project execution, and continuous service improvement while promoting automation and infrastructure as code as strategic enablers.
This leader is responsible for virtualization platform strategy, inclusive of capacity management, KPI reporting, operational resiliency, security compliance, and modernization initiatives, including enterprise migrations from VMware to Nutanix AHV. The role partners closely with architecture, cybersecurity, application teams, operations, risk management, audit, vendors, and executive leadership to ensure infrastructure platforms remain resilient, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise technology objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the enterpriseProductOwner for VMware and Nutanix virtualization environments with accountability for platform stability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence.
Lead and manage teams of onshore and offshore virtualization engineers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Develop andmaintainstrategic platform roadmaps focused on automation, self-service capabilities, infrastructure as code, and operational modernization.
Oversee all virtualization infrastructure builds within enterprise data centers, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, resiliency requirements, and operational best practices.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and managed service partners to ensure project milestones, deliverables, and migration schedules are achieved.
Provide executive-level reporting and communicationsregardingprogram health, risks, dependencies, financials, and delivery status.
Manage platform lifecycle activities including hardware refreshes, software upgrades, patching strategies, and retirement of legacy infrastructure.
Develop andmaintainoperational dashboards and KPI reporting related to availability,utilization, performance, incident trends, and service health.
Champion automation initiativesleveragingscripting, orchestration, and event-driven remediation to improve operational efficiency, resiliency, and service delivery.
Support audit, risk, and compliance activities by ensuring controls areproperly designed, documented, and executed.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Deepexpertisewith VMware technologies including vSphere, vCenter,ESXi, and enterprise virtualization operations.
Strong understanding of data center infrastructure,compute, storage, networking, and disaster recovery concepts.
Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasting, vendor relationships, and technology lifecycle planning.
Master's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Industry certifications such as VMware VCP/VCAP, Nutanix NCP, ITIL, PMP,SAFe, or equivalent.
Familiarity with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or similar automation technologies.
