LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Specialist.


Location: Panama City Beach, FL


Job Description:

The Senior Cyber Security Specialist will support operations at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). This role is critical to ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, standards and maintaining secure, mission-ready systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Information Assurance (IA), DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), and modern network security practices.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for DoD Risk Management Framework and Information Assurance (IA) security compliance policies, programs, processes, and metrics.
  • Evaluate emerging network management technologies and provide technical recommendations to project managers regarding integration into the current infrastructure.
  • Analyze Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) to determine applicability and implement mitigation strategies for existing systems.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of networked systems, including configuration and support for network switches and remote system updates.
  • Perform updates and changes within the Comprehensive Information Technology Inventory (CITI) system as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or HS equivalency certificate is acceptable with additional years of experience as defined below.
  • Current, active Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in cyber security with direct involvement in RMF, IA policy compliance, and systems accreditation.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
  • CompTIA Linux+ Certification.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level Advanced certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Windows 10 and 11
    • Windows Server 2016
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and securing complex IT and network infrastructures in a DoD environment.
  • Proven ability to provide actionable insights and leadership in cybersecurity program execution and risk mitigation.
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.


Note: NSWC PCD accepts completion of coursework for the Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals and Linux+ certifications via LinkedIn Learning and/or FedVTE. Candidates must provide proof of completed modules as evidence of meeting this requirement.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief senior leadership.
    • Experience supporting DoD or Navy acquisition programs.
    • Familiarity with NSWC PCD systems and protocols is highly desirable.
