Job description

Senior Customer Service Representative

NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service. DOF's Sheriff's Office serves and enforces court mandates, orders of protection, warrants, decrees, and property seizures. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office conducts criminal investigations of real property fraud, tax crimes, and the trafficking of illegal and untaxed tobacco products and synthetic narcotics, and monitors defendants referred by the courts for electronic monitoring. The Sheriff Office is seeking an organized, reliable, and motivated individual to serve as a Senior Customer Service Representative. The ideal candidate will perform administrative duties in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) unit, handling tasks related to the Operation Padlock to Protect enforcement program. Reporting to a BCI unit manager, the selected candidate's duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following.

  • Perform difficult and specialized administrative work.
  • Coordinate and perform tasks related to records management and operations tracking, including, data entry, preparation and transfer of case files, evidence documents, and documentation following inspections.
  • Prepare and execute mailings for respondents. Track correspondence to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and monitor tracking system for correspondence.
  • Compile data and update databases.
  • Prepare report, correspondence and other communications.
  • Perform related administrative tasks related to Operation Padlock to Protect.
  • Monitor program budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain various reports, and financial summaries.
  • Process paperwork, orders, and payment requests in a timely manner for enforcement operations.
