Job description


We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting team. This role reports to the Senior Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting and is responsible for addressing complex accounting matters in accordance with US GAAP, supporting the accounting of technical areas, and partnering and guiding business operations on new or complex transactions.
This position offers the opportunity to work on highly visible, complex, and judgmental accounting topics while partnering cross-functionally with Controllership, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Tax, and business operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced public company environment and is passionate about technical accounting, continuous improvement, and driving accounting excellence.
JOB DUTIES
• Support the preparation and review of technical accounting disclosures included in Forms 10-K and 10-Q.Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, standardization, and automation in technical accounting and reporting processes.
• Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., lease accounting, consolidation tools, equity compensation tools, etc.).
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audits, including preparation of supporting documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.
• Research, analyze, and document complex accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. Prepare technical accounting memoranda, position papers, and accounting policies.
• Evaluate accounting implications of non-routine and strategic transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, financing arrangements, and new business initiatives.
• Provide clear recommendations and alternative accounting treatments supported by authoritative guidance.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and governance of global accounting policies, with a focus on consistency, clarity, and scalability.
• Monitor FASB and SEC developments and assess the impact of new accounting standards and regulatory changes. Lead or support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements, including cross-functional coordination and documentation.
• Partner with the Financial Reporting team to ensure completeness and accuracy of footnote disclosures.
• Assist in drafting new disclosures and enhancing existing disclosures based on evolving requirements and peer practices.
• Partner with Controllership and business stakeholders to provide guidance on accounting treatment for complex or non-standard transactions. Review significant contracts and agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Assist in maintaining a strong internal control environment, including SOX compliance related to technical accounting and disclosures.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, standardization, and automation in technical accounting and reporting processes.
• Assist in the preparation and/or review of complex accounting areas or transactions including, stock based compensation, EPS, leases, debt and derivatives, etc.
MUST HAVE:
• CPA required
• 3+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or public company experience
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and exposure to SEC reporting requirements
• Demonstrated experience researching and documenting complex accounting issues
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly
