Job description

Job Summary/Overview

The Senior Accountant, Tax will support various income tax functions including tax compliance, tax provision computations, and tax planning initiatives. This role will be based at Columbus McKinnon Corporation global headquarters with a hybrid work schedule. The Senior Accountant, Tax will be a key member of the tax department as the Company continues to grow and evolve.ย ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • In-house preparation, in OneSource Income Tax software, of the consolidated group's US federal and state income tax filings.
  • Assist with the preparation, in OneSource Tax Provision, of the interim and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740. ย Prepare supporting workpapers and reconciliations.
  • Aid in foreign informational reporting (Forms 5471, 8858).
  • Assist with tax research including analysis of new tax laws and the potential impact on the Company.
  • Correspond with the IRS and state departments of revenue regarding notices and audits.
  • Collaborate with global business unit controllers to obtain then analyze relevant tax data.
  • Actively participate in the building of a professional, proactive, responsive, technically strong tax organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of US Federal and State income taxes and accounting for income taxes.
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills. ย Proficient with excel. ย Experience with tax research tools or corporate income tax preparation software, specifically OneSource, is preferred.
  • Superior work ethic and commitment level dedicated to achieving individual and team goals. Desire for career growth and advancement in tandem with the Company growth.ย 
  • Detail oriented with ability to effectively take direction, self-review, problem solve, and appropriately escalate concerns.
  • Confident, effective verbal and written communicator in both individual and group settings.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, adaptable to change, and enjoys collaboration.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or Analytics required.
  • 2+ years of full-time corporate tax experience.
  • Master's in Tax or Accounting required.
  • CPA preferred.
