J-PRIMES Senior Field Engineer Eglin AFB, FL Open Position Request Number R-O-25 CLASSIFICATION: J-PRIMES Senior Field Engineer GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-time LOCATION: J-PRIMES, Eglin AFB, FL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * The essential job functions include: proficiently operate power amplifiers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, EMI receivers, position controllers, digital oscilloscopes, network analyzers, advanced video equipment, and specialized unique RF test equipment used to in support of J-PRIMES installed systems testing. * Maintain and verify the shielded test area RF isolation. * Perform routine maintenance of fiber optic connections, link equipment, and test laboratory equipment. GENERAL DUTIES: * Support conduct of technical activities required to achieve the J-PRIMES test mission including: RADAR target and ECM generation, threat emitter simulation, EMI measurements, EMC measurements/testing, RCS measurement, communication/navigation noise floor measurement, GPS testing, and antenna pattern measurements. * Perform routine operation of simultaneous test missions. * Operate and maintain the J-PRIMES systems and equipment required for test execution and general support. * Provide senior level expertise to resolve moderately to very challenging problems in the area of responsibility. * Must work with senior level personnel to perform developmental activities to ensure reliability, maintainability, and interoperability, and to improve and modernize the facility. * Work independently in nearly all cases with rare need to rely on principal level expertise on problems of exceptional difficulty. Job Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Two-year technical degree in Electronics. * Fifteen years total test experience with at least 5 of these years directly supporting the testing of RF systems in an installed system test environment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Supports E-OMS operational objectives. TOP SECRET security clearance. Must meet requirements to operate in enhanced security environments WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area in an office setting on Eglin AFB, FL.
