Job Description:
The L3Harris space superiority and imaging systems engineering department is seeking a systems engineer to join our team and support programs that we have recently won. The department specializes in space-based, small and large aperture visible and infrared telescopes with integrated electromechanical devices used for motion and focus control. ย The successful candidate will be a program technical lead (Lead or Chief Systems Engineer, IPT Lead) by performing technical analysis, managing specifications, and generating design review and technical documents. ย Additional responsibilities include leading the test and design verification, requirements sell off, and end item data package (EIDP) generation efforts. ย ย 
Essential Functions:
โ€ข ย  ย Lead the development and execution of system architecture and system design plans.
โ€ข ย  ย Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and compatibility of all system components and provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle.
โ€ข ย  ย Comfortable negotiating technical and non-technical scope with customers
โ€ข ย  ย Experience with active and passive remote sensing
โ€ข ย  ย Direct experience leading technical teams
โ€ข ย  ย Experience leading large space programs across the full system lifecycle.
โ€ข ย  ย Systems engineering experience in passive/active electro-optical hardware
โ€ข ย  ย Perform technical analysis, manage specifications, and generate design review, requirements, specifications, interface, and technical documents.ย

Qualifications:
โ€ข ย  ย Bachelorโ€™s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
โ€ข ย  ย 5+ years systems engineering experience with space-based payloads, vehicle systems, EO/IR systems with electromechanical pointing and focus control.
โ€ข ย  ย Candidate with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance is highly desirable.
Preferred Additional Skills:
โ€ข ย  ย Holds an active Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
โ€ข ย  ย Technical Subject Matter Expertise in optical, electro-optical, electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline.
โ€ข ย  ย Relevant experience with the design, manufacture, integration, test and sell-off of space-based EO/IR subsystems.ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Cameo Systems/No Magic Model-based systems engineering (MBSE), SysML
โ€ข ย  ย Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
โ€ข ย  ย Ability to support program milestone reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, FCA/PCA, PSR).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York isย $133,000 - $247,000.ย ย This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
