We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Team and support the development of next-generation aerial work platforms. This position plays a key role in defining, integrating, validating, and improving complex machine systems, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and control systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience in vehicle or mobile equipment manufacturing, such as aerial work platforms, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, trucks, off-road vehicles, or other electro-mechanical systems.
Position Summary
The Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all machine subsystems work together effectively to meet customer requirements, performance objectives, regulatory standards, and safety requirements. This role serves as a technical liaison between engineering disciplines and supports the full product lifecycle from concept through production and continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Define system requirements and develop system architecture for aerial work platform products.
  • Lead the integration of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and software components into complete machine systems.
  • Develop and maintain system specifications, functional requirements, and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing, suppliers, testing personnel, and product management teams throughout product development.
  • Analyze system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Support machine validation, testing, and verification activities.
  • Participate in risk assessments, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and root cause investigations.
  • Evaluate new technologies and components for future product development.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Support production teams with technical expertise related to machine systems and product improvements.
  • Assist in the development of electrical and control system logic, communication networks, and machine diagnostics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline).
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in vehicle, mobile equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, automotive, or heavy equipment manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and product development processes.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, control systems, and mechanical integration.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with CAN Bus communications, control architectures, and machine diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with aerial work platforms, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, trucks, or other off-highway vehicles.
  • Knowledge of embedded control systems and vehicle electronics.
  • Experience with FMEA, root cause analysis, and system validation testing.
  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts and industry standards.
  • Experience using engineering software such as See Electrical, E3 Series (Zuken), ZWCAD, AutoCAD, Visio, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of software-controlled systems and machine communication protocols.
  • Exposure to product development from concept through production launch.
