Job description

Title:
Senior Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer

KBR ISA (Integrated Solutions Americas) delivers integrated, end-to-end engineering, procurement, and construction management services to the refining, LNG, midstream, chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, power, and industrial infrastructure sectors. Our focus spans proprietary technology, consulting, and energy transition to complete delivery of major capital projects and programs.
KBR is looking for an Instrumentation & CSE - Senior Engineer who will be responsible for the technical and operation engineering of assigned instrumentation and process control system scope, including DCS, telecommunications, instrumentation, and process analyzers for medium to large oil and gas, refining and petrochemical projects.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Assist the execution lead, with an eye for managing cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Use strong organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources
  • Under the direction of the lead, this individual has the responsibility, accountability, and authority to manage the execution of assigned aspects of the engineering design in accordance with applicable specifications and standards to achieve project objectives
  • Assembles clear, accurate scopes of work and construction packages including documentation
  • Facilitates safety and constructability reviews
  • Creates requisitions for engineered items and development of spare parts list
  • Communicates technical and commercial issues o the lead as related to project objectives
  • Successfully communicates with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, and all other departments
  • Ensures all project documentation is completed

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of industrial oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industries experience
  • 5+ years of experience in technical control systems leadership
  • Total Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Experience developing process control specifications and control system design
  • Experience leading initiatives and managing suppliers
  • Demonstrated experience requisitioning, evaluating bids, and reviewing/managing supplier data for instruments and process control systems, such as DCS, PLC, SIS, BMS
  • Demonstrated experience in instrumentation
  • Experience with electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams, and panel schedules
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, other disciplines, procurement, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.

Preferred Education & Skills:
  • PE or P.Eng.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to telecoms, cyber security, and process analyzer engineering
