Certifications: ITIL4 Foundation and Continuous professional development Position Description: The Senior Configuration/Change Management Specialist provides oversight, governance, and expert support for enterprise IT configuration and change enablement processes within the DHA Domain and Directory Services Branch (DDSB). This role ensures enterprise IT changes are properly assessed, documented, authorized, and implemented in compliance with DHA and DoD policies, reducing risk and maintaining operational stability. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee configuration and change management processes, ensuring alignment with DHA governance standards and ITIL4 best practices. Develop, review, and maintain configuration management foundation documents, including policies, SOPs, and audit-ready records. Ensure the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is accurate, reconciled, and reflective of enterprise system baselines, supporting traceability and audit readiness. Provide senior-level audit and compliance reporting on enterprise changes, ensuring deviations are identified, risk-assessed, and escalated for corrective action. Coordinate and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, preparing reports and documentation to support decision-making. Mentor and guide junior staff, ensuring effective execution of configuration/change management activities and knowledge transfer. Collaborate with IT administrators, engineers, and knowledge management specialists to ensure that configuration and change records are complete, accurate, and consistent across the enterprise. Develops - Senior-level change management reports and compliance summaries. Configuration management foundation documents. CMDB audit and reconciliation records. CAB meeting documentation and recommendations. The Senior Configuration/Change Management Specialist strengthens DHA’s enterprise IT governance and risk management by providing oversight of change processes, validating configuration records, and ensuring compliance with DoD standards. By guiding enterprise-wide change management practices, this role enables DHA to maintain secure, reliable, and transparent IT operations across the Military Health System.
