Job Summary

SyBridge Technologies Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Designer to support our Engineering Department and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mold solutions. This role is ideal for an individual with strong experience in designing and modifying plastic injection molds using CATIA software within a precision-driven manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Designer plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, functionality, and first-time quality in all mold designs while supporting Program Managers to meet project timelines and customer requirements. This position collaborates closely with engineering, production, and program management teams to align design execution with technical specifications and delivery objectives. Success in this role requires strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, time management skills, and a commitment to driving customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete engineering projects such asdesigning tooling to.
  • Verify and check functional needs of manifold and ensure meets mold flow requirements.
  • Modifyand/or develop cooling and ejection system.
  • Verify mechanisms function properly in the design.
  • Understand and apply customer or SyBridge Technologies standards to the mold design.
  • Verify mold meets customer & try-out locations press parameters.
  • Incorporate machining and mold making best practices with consideration for best cost and timing.
  • Independently attend customer reviews as needed.
  • Incorporate all customer & SyBridge Technologies safety standards into all tool designs.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for block size, manifolds and other purchased components.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Successfully maintain a fluctuating workload, multi-task on jobs and conflicting priorities, sufficient information to proceed with work.
  • Confidence in being the key authorityEnsuring adequate steel and seal-off conditions,water locations, ejection quantity/size, tool strength (pillars, manifold cutout, plate thickness), assembly feasibility, approve manifolds.
  • Responsible for interacting with internal personnel and customers at various stages to ensure quality tooling including providing documentation for customer approval.
  • Work closely with Surfacers and manufacturing personnel to produce quality and cost effective tooling.
  • Communicate best practices and lessons learned with Engineering Team Managers
  • Support and train junior designers as needed.
  • As needed, make appropriate personnel aware of any hardware /software inadequacies that hinder productivity.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or college certification (mold making & design) or equivalent is required.
  • Five years of related experience designing tooling/plastic injection molds; or equivalent SyBridge Technologies experience as high level intermediate designer or higher level.
  • 3+ years of experience with CAD (Catia V5 preferred).
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required.
  • Ability to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proficient in time management and communication skills.
