Fastenal Company, Winona, MN IT Senior Database Administrator (Multiple Openings) Offered Salary: $85,000-$130,000 The specific duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: 1. Managing databases within the Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL database technology stack 2. Managing databases within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms 3. Designing, implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code workflows to provision, configure, patch and harden database platforms with repeatable, idempotent automation 4. Troubleshooting data replication and integrity across the enterprise 5. Performing and tuning along with SQL, PL/SQL and T-SQL development 6. Writing and maintaining technical support documentation for applications 7. Adhering to security best practices, access control, and security policies 8. Demonstrating day-to-day adherence with change control concepts and practices 9. Providing 24x7 support on critical systems in an on-call rotation 10. Acting as a technical expert and reference point for wider technical queries 11. Mentoring other members of the team The skills and qualifications required for this position include: Possess a bachelor's degree in IT, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related field of study; plus 3 years of experience in Database Administration, Systems Engineering, or closely related field 1. 3 years of experience in: a. managing databases within the Oracle or Microsoft SQL database technology stack b. troubleshooting data replication and integrity c. working on SQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL/MSSQL development, and d. writing technical support documentation for applications 2. 2 years of experience managing cloud database systems 3. Demonstrated knowledge in scripting and performance tuning 4. Demonstrated strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities skills 5. Demonstrated strong math aptitude 6. Excellent written and oral communication 7. Experience in learning and performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 8. Experience in working independently as well as in a team environment 9.
