Welcome to Gordon Food Service! We are excited that you are thinking about opportunities with us, and we have an amazing story to share. See below for a quick glance of who we are and the impact you could have on the food service industry. There's a seat at our table for you...
Position Summary:
The Senior Functional Analyst will focus on a supply chain suite of capabilities, including Demand Planning, Replenishment Planning, Inventory Optimization, and Order Optimization. This is a high-visibility, autonomous opportunity perfect for a technical professional eager to take full operational ownership of a modern supply chain tech stack as a Subject Matter Expert.
The Senior Functional Analyst works closely with business users to understand the processes and requirements, translating them into artifacts to create solutions. This role engages in projects of all sizes and monitors/configures the application to enable all essential software features for optimal performance. It is the ideal role for a consultative problem-solver who wants to actively challenge business assumptions, design complex enterprise processes, and advise leadership.
What you will do:
  • Routine Day Balance: Your time will roughly be divided into functional design, hands-on tech stack, on-call break fix, project work, and working with business partners.
  • o9 Platform & Tech Stack SME: Function as a key SME for system availability, stability, and value realization within the o9 platform. Direct internal technologies (including dbt, BigQuery, Data Lake, GCP, and Certified Datasets) to build and maintain secure, performant, and stable systems.
  • Strategic Translation & Requirement Engineering: Elicit domain requirements using interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis. Understand complex customer business needs and translate them into actionable artifacts for IT staff, Product Owners, and SaaS vendor support teams.
  • Consultative Pushback: Drive and actively challenge business users on their assumptions regarding how they will successfully execute their plans. Break down high-level information to identify the underlying true needs of user requests.
  • Process Design & Optimization: Configure and tune applications for optimal performance, approaching problems with an awareness of key metrics (forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels) that must be balanced.
  • Ownership & Leadership: Successfully engage in multiple large initiatives simultaneously, absorbing break fix volume while driving long-term strategic Center of Excellence (CoE) initiatives. Mentor less-experienced analysts and occasionally serve as a project team leader.

When you will work:
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm plus an on-call requirement (1 week on call every 3 to 4 weeks).
  • Hybrid schedule: 4 days in the office in Wyoming, MI or Atlanta, GA with 1 day remote.

What you'll bring to the table:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Five to eight years of previous analysis, software development, or relevant experience required.
  • Technical Acumen: Direct, proven experience working within a modern tech stack (dbt, BigQuery, Data Lake, GCP, Certified Datasets) OR Supply Chain Expertise with a deep understanding of demand planning and replenishment activities.
  • Vendor Management: Proven experience managing and collaborating with SaaS vendors preferred.
  • Independent Problem Solving: Highly motivated to engage in multiple large initiatives simultaneously with little to no oversight.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact professionally and clearly with executives, managers, developers, and diverse subject matter experts.
