Job description

Bilingual Medical Assistant (Russian / English) - Value-Based Senior Care
Location: Venice, FL (On-site, retail-style clinic setting)
Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (No PRN, late starts, or early outs)
Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00/hour base + $1.50/hour bilingual differential ($21.50 - $23.50/hr operating range; flexible up to $24.50/hr based on experience) + Performance Bonus Potential
Position Overview
Are you a compassionate, adaptable Medical Assistant looking to make a true, measurable impact on your community's senior population? We are a rapidly growing primary care organization dedicated to revolutionizing senior health through a Value-Based Care Model.
Unlike high-volume traditional clinics, we allot 45 minutes per patient appointment. This model empowers our clinical teams to move past rushed charts, actively close care gaps, and build deeply meaningful, long-term relationships with patients aged 60 and older. Operating out of accessible, modern retail-style neighborhood clinics rather than massive medical plazas, we offer a tight-knit, collaborative environment where your voice and care matter.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a core member of a lean, collaborative care team, you will work closely alongside a primary care physician to provide comprehensive clinical and administrative support.
  • Patient Intake & Rooming: Welcome senior members, conduct patient interviews, document thorough medical histories, and accurately measure/record vital signs.
  • Clinical Screenings & Procedures: Perform routine screenings, EKGs, diabetic retinopathy screenings (training provided), and administer injections.
  • Strong Phlebotomy Focus: Perform blood draws and basic laboratory processing efficiently and comfortably.
  • Care Gap & Quality Management: Assist with clinical quality measures, perform routine screenings (such as PHQ-9 depression screenings), and close Focus on Care Gaps (FOCS).
  • Relationship-Driven Communication: Critically listen and engage with patients, reporting all relevant physical and emotional findings directly to the Primary Care Provider (PCP).
  • First Aid & Treatments: Change patient dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and execute other first-aid procedures as directed.
  • Administrative Duties: Process patient phone messages, handle return calls, relay accurate information between patients and physicians, and process urgent "stat" referrals when necessary.
  • Health Coaching: Actively partner with seniors by providing foundational health coaching and wellness education.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Language Proficiency: Native or professional fluency in Russian and English is strictly required. (Note: Selected candidates will complete an audio-based language assessment via computer program during the interview process).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
  • EMR Experience: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records platforms (eClinicalWorks or similar EMRs).

Preferred Experience
  • 6+ months of robust phlebotomy and lab experience.
  • Prior experience working directly with geriatric/elderly patient populations.
  • Background working within a Value-Based Care or Medicare Advantage model.

The Ideal Soft Skills & Culture Fit
  • High Adaptability: We are a rapidly growing company where training and workflows can update quickly. You should feel comfortable learning on the fly and doing things differently than traditional healthcare models.
  • True Team Player: We operate lean, busy, and efficient clinics. The ideal candidate is cross-functional and eager to step in and help a teammate or patient, even if they aren't assigned to your specific schedule.
  • Highly Punctual: Our daily huddles kick off exactly at 8:00 AM. Being present, prepared, and ready to collaborate with your team every morning is essential to our daily workflow.

What's In It For You?
  • Competitive Pay & Enhancements: Strong hourly base pay supplemented by a guaranteed bilingual premium and additional performance-based bonus potential.
  • Impactful Work: Ditch the rushed 10-minute turnaround times. Enjoy a slower, intentional 45-minute care pace designed to truly change outcomes for seniors.
  • Career Growth: Join a fast-scaling organization with long-term upward mobility and ongoing skill training.
  • Provided Attire: Clean, professional uniform standard (Black or Blue Scrubs).

* As a job position within our Allied division, a successful completion of a background check may be required as a condition of employment. This requirement is directly related to essential job functions including but not limited to: providing direct patient care, accessing medical and confidential records, accessing and administering prescription medication or other drugs, working within a clinical setting, handling sharp instruments, conducting medical procedures, and working within departments that care for vulnerable populations, such as, minors, elderly and those with physical or mental disabilities.
