JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. E-Comm Front-End Engineer is responsible for working on new technology implementations, new features and functionality, user interface and user experience (UI/UX) enhancements. This position is also responsible for the maintenance and support of the Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) storefront and omnichannel platforms and applications in support of At Home's fast-growing e-commerce business. While primarily focused on front-end development, this role also contributes to Salesforce Commerce Cloud back-end development and platform enhancements as business priorities require.
This position provides technical leadership by establishing front-end coding standards, architecture guidelines, and development best practices while mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with business, product, UX, QA, and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-performing digital experiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborate with business, product, technology, UX, and QA teams to design, build, and optimize websites, mobile apps, and digital platforms.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, scalable, and high-performing user experiences using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, AJAX, React, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud ISML templates while ensuring compliance with ADA, Title III, and industry standards.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and reusable code while participating in Agile development across front-end, back-end, QA, and product management.
  • Analyze and improve site performance, speed, stability, scalability, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, SEO, browser compatibility, and overall customer experience.
  • Design and implement e-commerce solutions integrating order management systems (OMS), customer relationship management (CRM), Customer Database Platforms (CDP), inventory systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and analytics platforms (e.g., Adobe).
  • Support and enhance e-commerce operations, including BOPIS, local delivery, and ship-from-store capabilities.
  • Contribute to Salesforce Commerce Cloud back-end development, integrations, and platform enhancements to support team priorities and business objectives.
  • Establish front-end coding standards, architecture guidelines, reusable component strategies, and development best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and provide technical leadership through knowledge sharing and engineering best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend modern front-end technologies, frameworks, and development approaches to support the evolution of At Home's digital commerce platform.
  • Support modernization initiatives, including Salesforce Commerce Cloud Storefront Next and Headless Commerce capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or 5+ years of relevant experience in retail/e-commerce development.
  • 5+ years of front-end web development experience, with at least 3 years developing Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) storefronts.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, AJAX, React, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud ISML templates.
  • Proven track record developing and maintaining enterprise e-commerce websites and applications using Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Commerce Cloud server-side development, including controllers, pipelines, cartridges, and platform customization.
  • Experience with web services and REST API integrations.
  • Experience developing reusable UI components and responsive, mobile-first web applications.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design, browser compatibility, accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG), SEO, front-end architecture, and performance optimization.
  • Skilled in Agile/SDLC tools such as JIRA and Confluence; proficient in source code management (Git, GitFlow, BitBucket).
  • Demonstrated ability to establish front-end coding standards, mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional, multi-site teams in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
