Senior Civil / Environmental Engineer (CCR Landfill Program)


Location: Winchester, KY (near Lexington)

Are you an experienced Civil or Environmental Engineer looking to lead high-impact projects that shape the future of energy infrastructure?

Our client, a respected not-for-profit electric generation and transmission cooperative serving more than one million Kentucky residents, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead its Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Landfill Program. This is a leadership opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex environmental challenges, managing large capital projects, and influencing long-term strategy.


What You'll Do

  • Lead engineering activities for the organization's CCR landfill program.
  • Manage large capital projects from planning through execution.
  • Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership to internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
  • Oversee engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Present project updates to executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders.


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
    • Coal ash management
    • Landfill engineering
    • Solid waste
    • Environmental compliance
  • Experience managing engineering or construction projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
