Demco Products in Oak Lawn is seeking an experienced Sr. CNC setup machinist.
Demco Products is a family owned and operated precision CNC machine shop specializing in the manufacturing of high-pressure filter housings and precision turned breathing apparatus components. Demco has been providing high quality parts and exceptional customer service to our customers for over 75 years. We operate out of a 15,000 sq ft facility, located in Oak Lawn, IL near the southwest side of Chicago. The manufacturing floor consists of 30 CNC machines capable of performing turning as well as horizontal and vertical milling. We are an ISO 9001:2015 company with capacities of ½ diameter up to 12” diameter.
We are currently seeking an experienced Sr. CNC setup machinist to join our production team. This candidate will report directly to the Shop Supervisor. The setup machinist role consists of the following responsibilities:
  • Review detailed manufacturing prints
  • Create and or edit G-Code at the machine
  • Setup jobs with any necessary programming and fixturing
  • Setup the machine with required tooling
  • Run the machine while checking for machine errors and part non-conformance
  • Make adjustments to offset coordinates to compensate for materials, tooling or machine center conditions.
  • Inspect parts for adherence to print dimensions and tolerances
  • Work independently with minimal direction from senior operations staff to setup jobs, perform machining functions, and troubleshoot machining related issues
  • Work with machine operators to had off the routine part production in order to move on to setting up additional machines
  • Load and unload parts into the machines weighing up to 30lbs
  • Enters data into ERP system.
Job Requirements:
  • Must have proficient knowledge of G-Code programming language and be capable of editing code at the machine
  • Must be familiar with Fanuc controls
  • Must have 5+ years of experience troubleshooting, setting up, and running most of the following machines:
  • Must have CNC horizontal Mill experience
  • Must have CNC lathe experience
  • Must speak English
  • Must be able to read small print and inspect small components
  • Must be able to stand and walk the shop floor to monitor machine operation
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs
  • Must be reliable and show up to work on time
  • Must have sound problem solving skills
  • Must poses a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must communicate well and be able to follow instructions
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, some overtime available.
