Manufacturing CNC Setup Operator

Location: Wood Dale, IL 60191
Job Type: Full-Time – 1st shift

Job Overview

The CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Setup Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision parts and components. This role involves preparing machine tools, loading raw materials, and ensuring the equipment operates efficiently and accurately. The CNC Setup Operator ensures that parts are produced to specifications and meet quality standards within established time frames.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup and Calibration

  • Prepare CNC machines (such as Swiss lathes, Mills, and EDMs) for production by setting up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
  • Install and align cutting tools, tool holders, and other necessary equipment to ensure proper machine operation.
  • Set machine parameters such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders.

Production Operation

  • Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, milling, grinding, or turning metal and other materials.
  • Monitor machine operations, adjust settings, and troubleshoot to maintain production quality.

Quality Assurance
