Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to support and enhance the company's cloud-first technology environment. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this role will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for Microsoft Azure infrastructure, identity management, cloud security, endpoint management, and hybrid network connectivity.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, enterprise networking, automation, and cloud security. This role will play a key part in maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable systems while supporting future growth and technology initiatives.


Responsibilities:
Architect, deploy, maintain, and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Monitor.
Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity governance, Conditional Access, multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, application registrations, and privileged access management.
Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Intune.
Support cloud security initiatives utilizing Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft Sentinel.
Design and maintain hybrid connectivity between company locations and Azure environments, including VPNs, Azure Virtual WAN, routing, and related technologies.
Manage DNS architecture, including Azure DNS, Azure Private DNS Zones, and hybrid name resolution environments.
Administer and support on-premises network infrastructure, including switching, wireless networking, VLANs, firewalls, and site-to-site connectivity.
Develop and maintain automation solutions utilizing PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Bicep, ARM Templates, or Terraform.
Lead cloud migration projects, tenant consolidations, and Azure infrastructure improvements.
Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning and testing activities.
Manage Azure governance, security policies, resource organization, tagging standards, and access controls.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system standards.
Serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure, cloud, and networking issues.
Mentor junior IT personnel and support knowledge sharing across the IT team.
Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance security, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure administration.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure networking technologies.
Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
Knowledge of enterprise networking, including switching, VLANs, routing, wireless networking, and firewalls.
Experience with Microsoft Defender security products and/or Microsoft Sentinel preferred.
Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Requirements:
Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in network and telecommunications rooms.
Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support maintenance activities, migrations, or incident response.
