Senior Client Relationship Executive

Locations: Opportunities available for US - Southeast, Central and Mid-Atlantic Regions

As a Senior Client Relationship Executive (SCRE), you'll serve as a strategic advisor and relationship manager for some of our most valued clients and broker partners. You'll work closely with employers that have sophisticated benefits programs, absence management solutions, and complex technology integrations.

In this highly visible role, you'll combine relationship management, business consulting, and growth strategy to ensure clients receive exceptional service while maximizing the value of their partnership with Sun Life.

What You'll Do

Build Strategic Client Relationships

  • Serve as the relationship manager for a diverse portfolio of large and complex group benefits clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with clients, benefit administrators, brokers, and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients optimize their benefits programs and achieve their business objectives.
  • Lead proactive business reviews and strategic discussions focused on performance, service, and growth opportunities.

Drive Client Retention and Growth

  • Partner with clients and brokers to identify opportunities to expand Sun Life products and services.
  • Support retention efforts through thoughtful renewal strategies and ongoing relationship management.
  • Collaborate with sales, underwriting, implementation, and service teams to deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Help achieve client satisfaction, loyalty, retention, and revenue growth objectives.

Deliver Exceptional Client Experiences

  • Anticipate client needs and proactively develop solutions to address challenges.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure timely issue resolution and seamless service delivery.
  • Guide clients through implementation, enrollment, and ongoing benefits administration processes.
  • Educate clients on industry trends, market developments, and best practices.

Lead Through Collaboration

  • Serve as a key liaison between clients, brokers, and Sun Life teams.
  • Influence and align cross-functional partners to deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Share expertise and provide leadership within the account management organization.
  • Foster a culture of partnership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in group employee benefits, account management, client relationship management
  • Experience managing large, complex client relationships and delivering strategic business solutions.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and consultative relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Strong business, financial, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Current insurance license or ability to obtain one upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting national, key, or strategic accounts.
  • Knowledge of group benefits, absence management, and employee benefits administration.
  • Understanding of benefit technology integrations, including APIs and data exchange solutions.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) designation preferred.
