Job description

Senior Claims Advocate

The Senior Claims Advocate provides strategic claims support and advocacy for clients, focusing on complex claims handling, reserve management, and claims performance improvement. This role leads client-facing claims reviews and serves as a key advisor on claims outcomes and loss trends.

Primary tasks the incumbent will perform:

  • Oversee the strategy and resolution of complex, high-exposure, and multi-line claims, ensuring alignment with client financial and risk management objectives
  • Serve as the primary advocate for clients with carriers, proactively influencing reserves, coverage positions, and overall claim outcomes
  • Direct claim strategy and engagement with adjusters, setting expectations, driving accountability, and ensuring timely and effective claim progression
  • Identify and execute opportunities to reduce total cost of risk through strategic claim oversight, early intervention, and outcome-driven resolution approaches
  • Lead the development and delivery of quarterly claims reviews, including advanced trend analysis, large loss evaluation, and forward-looking insights
  • Present claims reviews to clients at a strategic level, providing clear, actionable recommendations to improve outcomes and inform risk management decisions
  • Manage and resolve complex or escalated claim issues, serving as a senior escalation point for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with carrier leadership, legal partners, and internal teams to resolve challenging claims and drive optimal outcomes
  • Mentor and develop Claims Advocates, providing technical guidance, oversight of claim strategy, and support in elevating client delivery

Required Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years of commercial insurance claims or claims advocacy experience
  • Strong understanding of claims handling, reserving, and coverage

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Advanced designations (AIC, SCLA, CPCU, ARM, etc.)
  • Experience managing large/complex commercial claims

Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:

  • Manages complex workloads; integrates claims strategy with client risk profile and renewal impact

Communicating & Influencing Skills:

  • Leads client discussions and presentations
  • Influences carrier decisions on reserves, settlements, and claim handling strategies

Outputs:

  • Effective management and advocacy of complex claims
  • Reduction or control of claim reserves and overall cost impact
  • High-quality quarterly claims review presentations and insights
  • Clear, actionable client recommendations to improve loss performance
  • Strong carrier relationships and escalated issue resolution
  • Mentorship and support of claims advocate partners

Regular Full-Time

Temporary or Part-Time

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $87,550.00 - $124,755.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
