Dewberry is currently seeking a Site / Civil Senior Engineer for its Land Development operation. This opportunity is open in our Lanham Maryland office.
This position requires eight (8) plus years of experience in civil design of land development activities including: design of grading, storm water management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage and water & sewer design. The selected candidate will become part of a growing team that provides complete, comprehensive land development services to a variety of clients. This position requires subject matter knowledge and breadth/depth experience to move projects from concept to completion including design work, plan and permit processing, and construction phase services.
Individual will be responsible for preparation and coordination of all Land Development design aspects; work closely with Senior Project Manager and agency staff.

Responsibilities
  • Selected candidate will be part of a multi-discipline team who design and develop construction plans for site civil/infrastructure projects.
  • Specific work may include but is not limited to:
    • Client communication
    • Construction document (plan and specifications) and technical reports preparation and/or oversight
    • Engineering analyses and cost estimates
    • Quality control/quality assurance in order to deliver a quality design product.
    • Train junior engineers in CAD, computations, and general design. Participate and facilitate department wide trainings
    • Attend industry focused task force meetings as technical lead.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
  • Eight (8) years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Land Development Projects required. Ten or more years preferred.
  • PE in the State of Maryland required.
  • Preparation of reports, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
  • Strong technical capabilities in various Software Applications including but not limited to:
    • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong understanding of civil site design for retail, commercial, residential, and urban redevelopment projects required.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model-based software required.
  • Experienced individual must be capable of delivering projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget.
  • Skill sets must include the ability to perform and /or direct civil related engineering work on diverse design projects across various market segments and with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and Dewberry-specific software programs.
