We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Senior Specialist, Business Development to support the identification and development of new revenue opportunities within strategic growth markets.
This is an ideal role for an early-career sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys prospecting and building relationships, and wants to develop their commercial skills. Working closely with the Senior Business Development Manager, New Markets, you will play a critical role in building pipeline, engaging prospective clients, and helping establish the company's presence in emerging markets.
The successful candidate will be proactive, curious, highly organized, and motivated by creating new opportunities through outbound activity and market engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Pipeline Generation
  • Support the achievement of pipeline and revenue targets through proactive prospecting and new business development activities within approved market segments.
  • Research, identify, and qualify prospective accounts and contacts aligned to strategic new markets.
  • Execute outbound prospecting activities through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate meetings and qualified opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of early-stage opportunities for progression by senior sales stakeholders.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, challenges, and business priorities.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings between qualified prospects and senior commercial stakeholders.
  • Support account-based prospecting initiatives and targeted campaigns across designated territories.

Targeting & Territory Planning
  • Assist in developing and maintaining target account lists based on Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) criteria.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, industry trends, and potential clients.
  • Maintain accurate account and prospect data within Salesforce and other sales tools.
  • Support territory planning activities by identifying key buying groups and decision-makers.

Market Engagement
  • Develop knowledge of target industries, buyer personas, and market dynamics.
  • Attend industry events, networking opportunities, webinars, and conferences as required to generate awareness and new business opportunities.
  • Build relationships with prospective clients and establish credibility through professional and consistent engagement.

Sales Process & CRM Management
  • Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, activities, and opportunities within Salesforce and related platforms.
  • Support opportunity progression through effective follow-up and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with sales processes, reporting requirements, and forecasting activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Marketing on campaign execution, lead follow-up, and targeted outreach initiatives.
  • Share market feedback, prospect insights, and competitive intelligence with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and work closely with senior business development and sales leadership to refine prospecting strategies and improve market penetration.

About You
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales development, or a customer-facing commercial role.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage prospects and generate new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders across various levels of an organization.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn, develop, and progress within a sales organization.
  • Comfortable using CRM and sales engagement tools such as Salesforce, Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to identify and prioritize opportunities.
