Job description

Job Description Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with our client in Raleigh, NC. Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand current-state processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. This role will focus heavily on process mapping, requirements gathering, business analysis, and process improvement across both business and technology environments.

The ideal candidate is naturally curious, comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, and able to connect business problems to practical technology and automation solutions. The Senior Business Analyst will also help clients identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and emerging AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, enhance decision-making, and improve the overall customer or employee experience. You do not need to be an AI subject matter expert, but you should understand the capabilities and practical applications of modern AI tools and be able to recognize where they may provide value.

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, needs, and desired outcomes. Lead discovery sessions, interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering activities. Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, process requirements, and acceptance criteria.

Facilitate discussions between business users, technology teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment. Identify gaps, dependencies, assumptions, risks, and opportunities throughout the analysis process. Challenge existing processes and requirements when appropriate to ensure solutions address the underlying business need rather than simply replicating the current state.

Process Mapping & Improvement Document and analyze current-state ("as-is") business and technology processes. Develop future-state ("to-be") process models that improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and user experience. Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, redundant activities, manual work, and opportunities for standardization.

Facilitate process improvement workshops with stakeholders. Analyze the relationship between business processes, systems, people, data, and technology. Translate process findings into actionable recommendations and implementation requirements.

Automation & Digital Transformation Work with clients to identify opportunities to automate manual, repetitive, or inefficient processes. Evaluate processes to determine where workflow automation, system integration, low-code/no-code solutions, or other technologies could provide value. Help assess potential automation opportunities based on business value, complexity, feasibility, risk, and expected return.

Collaborate with technical teams and solution architects to translate automation opportunities into potential solutions. Help clients move from "what we do today" to "what could be done differently" through technology and process redesign. AI & Emerging Technology Maintain a practical understanding of AI, generative AI, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled business tools.

Identify business processes and use cases where AI may improve productivity, decision-making, customer service, knowledge management, or other business outcomes. Help stakeholders understand where AI may be appropriate-and where traditional automation or process improvements may be a better solution. Participate in evaluating AI tools and potential use cases without needing to be the technical AI subject matter expert.

Translate business problems into potential AI-enabled use cases and communicate opportunities and limitations to business and technology stakeholders. Stay current with emerging AI capabilities and identify practical applications relevant to client needs. Required Qualifications & Experience 7+ years of experience in business analysis, process analysis, product analysis, technology consulting, or a related field.

Strong experience conducting requirements gathering and stakeholder discovery. Demonstrated experience creating and analyzing business process maps and workflows. Experience analyzing both business processes and technology-enabled processes.

Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, requirements management, and process improvement techniques. Experience working directly with business stakeholders and technology teams. Strong facilitation, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.

Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured requirements and actionable solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand technology concepts and how systems, applications, integrations, data, and workflows support business processes.

Must be able to be onsite in Raleigh, NC 4 days/week, 1 day remote. The base hourly range for this contract position is $60 - $90 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is an equal opportunity employer.

Applicants for employment will receive consideration without unlawful discrimination based on race, color, religion, creed, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, gender identity, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, genetic information, citizenship status or protected veteran status. In some cases, LRS Consulting uses generative artificial intelligence ("AI") in support of our hiring processes. LRS takes steps to ensure the use of AI does not result in discrimination based on protected class(es).

AI may be used in the hiring process solely in support of the assessment of candidate qualifications. All decisions in the hiring process are made by LRS employees.
