Job description

Reports To: Senior SC Insurance Control Officer

Primary Functions: Controlling adverse actions associated with credit union collateral.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Comply with federal, state and local laws and credit union procedures and practices regarding adverse actions involving credit union collateral.
  2. Responsible for maintaining records and adherence to department procedures and practices for secretions claims for collateralized loans.
  3. Responsible for maintaining records and adherence to department procedures and practices for protection of credit union collateral when impounded by private or public agencies.
  4. Responsible for maintaining records and adherence with department procedures and practices for member and insurance company contact during total loss claims involving credit union collateral.
  5. Responsible for maintaining records and adherence with department procedures and practices for refund of After Market Products for repossessed collateralized loans.
  6. Responsible for maintaining records and adherence with department procedures and practices for Collateral Protection Insurance damage and reimbursement claims for repossessed collateral.
  7. Responsible for administrative functions necessary to support Collateral Protection Insurance program to include, but not limited to processing claims, premiums, refunds, billings, file maintenance and posting.
  8. Responsible for maintaining records and adherence with department procedures and practices for proof of insurance or insurance cancellations letters received by member(s) and applicable refunds amounts within Special Credits.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not Applicable

Experience/Skills: Requires good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of laws and regulations involving repossession, foreclosures and insurance claim processing preferred.

Tenure: Special Credits Insurance Control Officer II (Category 11) requires one year as an Special Credits Insurance Control Officer I (Category 12). Special Credits Insurance Control Officer III (Category 10) requires 12 months tenure in the Special Credits Insurance Control Officer II (Category 11). Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate's performance. At management's discretion, directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.


Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and applicable local or state wage requirements, and will fall within the range provided below. In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.


$63,233 - $99,908 annually
$57,484 - $90,230 annually
$53,226 - $81,405 annually
